What this policy covers
The policy on this page covers christmascards.me and the card pages created from it. It applies whenever you make a card, open a card someone sent you, or contact us.
Christmas Cards is a digital card product. There is no printing, no postage and no mailing list you are added to without asking.
Information we collect
When you make a card we process the photo or scene you choose, the style and size you pick, and the message you write. That content is what the card is made from.
When you unlock a card we collect an email address so the card can be sent to you and so you can find it again. Payment is handled by our payment provider, and card numbers never reach our servers.
When you contact us we receive the name, email address and message you send, so that we can reply.
Why we collect it
Card content is processed so the card can be generated and displayed at its link. An email address is collected so an unlocked card can be delivered and recovered. Contact details are used only to answer the message you sent.
Christmas Cards does not sell personal information, and does not share it with advertisers.
How long we keep it
A free card and its link expire 24 hours after it is created, and the card content is removed after that. An unlocked card keeps a permanent link, so its content is kept until you ask us to delete it.
Contact messages are kept while the question is open and for a reasonable period afterwards, so that a follow-up can be answered.
Card pages and visibility
A card page sits at an unlisted link. Anyone who has the link can open the card, so treat the link the way you would treat the card itself.
Card pages are marked noindex, so search engines are asked not to list them.
Your choices
You can ask for a card and its content to be deleted, ask for a copy of what is held about you, or ask a question about any of the above.
Email merry@christmascards.me and we will answer within 3 to 7 hours, Monday to Sunday.
